Dr. Kiri Rutledge is pleased to be a part of the Kutryb Eye Institute team. Dr. Rutledge was born and raised in Northwest Kansas. Dating back to high school, she pursued her dream of becoming an optometrist. Dr. Rutledge received her undergraduate degree in biology and chemistry from Fort Hays State University. She went on to complete her doctorate of optometry degree at Northeastern State University College of Optometry with summa cum laude honors. Her professional interests include primary care and ocular disease. Dr. Rutledge has worked in the optometry field since high school; working at several private optometry and ophthalmology practices along the way. She is well versed in ocular disease after completing both an externship at Fry Eye Associates in Garden City, Kansas and a Primary Care Residency at the Daytona Beach VA. Both had significant emphasis in pre- and post-operative care. She also enjoys fitting specialty contact lenses and completed research titled, “Corneal Vault and Higher Order Aberrations in Scleral Contact Lenses.” She is passionate about preventative health care and always enjoys educating each patient about their ocular health and the systemic connections that can ensue. Dr. Rutledge is a member of the Florida Optometric Association and the American Academy of Optometry. She and her Florida native husband, Tyler Rutledge, reside in the Brevard county area. Together, they enjoy hobbies near the water: fishing and boating especially. Dr. Rutledge also enjoys jogging, cooking, and listening to live music.
